  • The successful launch of India’s heaviest and most advanced communication satellite, GSAT-11, from a European spaceport marks a significant milestone in the country’s space technology capabilities and would help in boosting faster internet services over the next 15 years.
  • It is heartening to witness another history of sorts in space technology made by a Hyderabad-based startup, ‘Exseed Space’, whose micro-satellite ExseedSAT1 was put into orbit by Space X Falcon 9 from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California.
  • Weighing about 5,854 kg, the GSAT-11 was launched from the Guiana Space Centre at Kourou in French Guiana.
  • Today, India is at the high table of the space-faring nations, with its launch capabilities being respected globally.
