SA's Naspers leads $540m investment in Indian startup

Founded more than 100 years ago, Naspers has transformed itself from a newspaper publisher into an $87 billion empire
- Naspers and Canada’s state pension fund have invested $540 million in Indian educational technology startup Byju’s, the South African internet giant said on Monday.
- The latest investment values the firm at around $3.6 billion, Indian media reported.
- Founded more than 100 years ago, Naspers has transformed itself from a newspaper publisher into an $87 billion empire, thanks to its one-third stake in Chinese tech giant Tencent.
