The 4th International Silk Road Forum has begun in Tbilisi, Georgia. It brings together 2,000 representatives from 60 countries, including high-ranking officials and foreign business leaders.

Under the patronage of Georgia's Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, the forum aims to provide a platform for Silk Road initiative representatives, international organizations, and private sector figures to discuss enhancing cooperation and global trade.

During the summit's opening day, the panel explored the role of open trade rules, online business, looking after the environment in global supply chains, and the development of the Middle Corridor as a strong trade route connecting the East and the West.

This year’s forum highlights Georgia’s important position as a central trade hub connecting Asia and Europe.

Levan Davitashvili, Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia talked to us about the long-term goal of the forum and the Silk Route.

He called Georgia a unique meeting point for the East and West.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia stated that Georgia's geographical location, particularly in Tbilisi, has historically acted as a meeting point for different civilizations. Today, Georgia can maintain this role by facilitating gatherings of government officials, political leaders, and businesses to discuss future collaborations. The forum's motto, "connecting today, resilient tomorrow," embodies this objective.
